An overturned semi closes I-69 in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE – The Indiana State Police responded to a semi-tractor trailer crash on I-69 at the 138 mm which led to the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes for approximately four hours.

The crash happened at approximately 8 a.m.

The driver, identified as Dvonte J. Dilosa, was traveling south on I-69 when the Pepsi semi-tractor trailer he was driving traveled off the roadway into the median, struck the guardrail and overturned in the northbound lanes of the interstate.

Both Dilosa and his driving instructor were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. They were examined for minor injuries by Emergency Medical personnel but did not need transport for further medical treatment.  

Northbound traffic was rerouted at the Ohio Street exit ramp, while southbound interstate traffic was rerouted at the SR252/SR44 exit ramp.

Martinsville Fire Department responded and assisted with traffic direction along with the Martinsville Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff’s Department. The Indiana State Police’s Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division also responded and assisted with the investigation.

Martinsville Fire Department personnel, using blowers, and employees of the Indiana Department of Transportation removed debris from the roadway. Indiana Department of Environmental Management was contacted because of the fuel spill following the crash.

At approximately 12 p.m., Troopers from the Indiana State Police opened the northbound and southbound lanes of I-69 after the semi-tractor trailer was uprighted and removed from the scene by Curtis Wrecker Service.
