Obituary: James K. Randolph

September 4, 1947 – April 28, 2023

James K. Randolph, 75, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the IU Health Bedford Hospital.

Born in Shoals, IN on September 4, 1947, he was the son of James O. Randolph and Lucille Tow. He married Linda Brinegar-Weaver in 1989, and she survives. Jim graduated from Oolitic High School and Welding Training Center in Terre Haute. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from October 1966 until October 1968. He was a member of the East Oolitic Community Church and worked as a tool and die welder at G.M. Powertrain from 1981 until his retirement.

Surviving Jim is his wife, Linda; his son, James R. “J.R.” Randolph; his daughter, Danielle R. Todd; his granddaughter, Chloe Rae Todd; his sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Ritter and Sherry (Jerry) Perkins; father-in-law, George Brinegar and his sister-in-law, Rita Randolph; and his mother-in-law, Sue Weaver.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Russell and Mary Tow and Elmer and
Carlona Randolph; and his brother, Larry.

Funeral services for James K. Randolph will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes with Pastor Millard Jones Officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery with military rites being accorded by the Honor Guard of the American Legion Gillen Post 33. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 3 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
