BARGERSVILLE – Shawn David McFarland, formerly of Mitchell, 49, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his residence.
Born March 21, 1974, in Bedford, he was the son of Samuel and Elva Mae (Conner) McFarland. He married Valorie Elizabeth Anne Browning on August 21, 1997, and she survives.
Shawn was a fan of the Cubs, Colts, and Pacers and he loved to watch racing; especially Chase Briscoe. He enjoyed playing pool and bowling, and going camping and fishing at the river. Shawn liked to spend time with family and go to independent wrestling events with his son, Alex.
Surviving are his wife, Valorie Elizabeth Anne McFarland of Bargersville; children, Seth Allen McFarland of Bedford, Alex Andrew McFarland of Bargersville, and Torie La Mae (Christopher James Pack) McFarland of Indianapolis; sisters, Betty Lynn Pruett of Mitchell, Sandra Mae Bambusch of Mitchell, and Katherine Sue Kirk of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; son, Ronnie James McFarland; and brothers, Samuel Dean McFarland, Steven Dwight McFarland, and Scott Douglas McFarland, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Cremation to follow.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
