When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Garrett Bentley standing in front of the self-checkout register talking to himself.

The deputies asked Bentley to step outside of the store.

While walking outside the deputies could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from Bentley’s breath.

The deputies said Bentley was slurring his speech and was under the influence.

Bentley told the officers he had been drinking. He was then detained by police, who said he began yelling during the process.

An employee at the store told deputies that Bentley had entered the store and purchased a bottle of wine. Bentley then asked an employee if he could chill outside and the employee said yes, as long as he didn’t bother the customers. He then went outside and stood in front of the store for more than an hour.

Bentley then began yelling at people and taking carts from people when they were done shopping.

He later re-entered the store and began yelling at customers and the clerks, at which point a n employee called police.

Bentley was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
