During a conversation with St. John, police said criminal indicators were detected, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  Trooper Robertson discovered meth, marijuana, heroin, LSD, and two handguns.

The trooper said St. John displayed signs of impairment.  When he was offered the opportunity to take a field sobriety test and a certified test, he refused.

A criminal history check revealed that St. John had been convicted of a felony, which would not allow him to possess a firearm.

St. John was arrested and taken to the Sullivan County Jail where he is currently being detained on felony charges of possession of meth, two counts of possession of a Scheduled I controlled substance, two counts of a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, as well as misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
