Ruth P. Fox, 93, of the rural Norman, Indiana, community departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her home. She was accompanied to the end by her life companion and husband of 75 years, Harold Thomas Fox.
She was born on February 16, 1929, to the late Orva D. and Emma (McHargue) Curry. Like several generations of her family before her, she lived her entire life in Owen Township in western Jackson County.
Ruth’s interests were farming, family, church, and genealogy. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church, Jackson County Genealogical Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She and Thomas were hardworking and successful farmers, raising strawberries, turkeys, cattle, hogs, and grandchildren.
Ruth is also survived by two sons: Larry D. (Darlene) Fox and Jerry W. (Shelley) Fox; eight grandchildren: Kristi, Jay, Doug, Justin, Jeremy, Travis, Tasha, and Robert; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ruth P. Fox will be conducted by Pastor Ron Plumer at the Liberty Christian Church on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and neighbors are invited to visit at Liberty Christian Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
