Uncooperative man arrested when officers served a search warrant

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on Friday, December 9th on a charge of resisting arrest after Conservation Officers and Officers with the Indiana Gaming Commission went to 7579 Tunnelton Road to execute a search warrant.

Although officers could hear movement inside, officers did not get a response when they knocked on the residence door.

Armed with a search warrant for the home, officers used a halligan tool to pry the front door open and entered the residence.

As officers entered a white pit bull ran out the front door. Police found no one home and a copy of the search warrant was left in the living room.

Police located marijuana and a smoking device on the shelf in an entertainment center in the living room.

Travis King

While executing the warrant, 51-year-old Travis King arrived at the home in a Ford Ranger pickup. An officer stopped him and told him to pull into the driveway. According to police, King revved his truck and sped into the driveway slamming on the brakes.

When an officer approached the truck, King jumped out and became aggressive with the officers. King was told to calm down but he continued to yell and he was detained. While placing handcuffs on King he pulled away from the officer and continued to struggle. Officers pinned King against the truck. He was then taken to the ground where he continued to resist, kicking and refusing to remove his hands from underneath his body. He was finally placed in handcuffs and placed in a patrol car.

Once King calmed down, an officer allowed King to call his dog and it was placed back inside the home.
