Washington woman faces charges of rape, voyeurism, and intimidation

WASHINGTON – A Washington woman faces several felony charges including rape.

Indiana State Police arrested 29-year-old Christelle Thelus on Tuesday, November 21 on charges of rape when compelled by force or imminent threat of force, public voyeurism, and a misdemeanor charge of intimidation.

Investigators with ISP and the Washington Police Department began their investigation on October 25, 2022, after a report, Thelus had sexually assaulted a person she met online. Police say she held the victim down and videoed the acts taking place. Those videos were then shared with other devices.

During the investigation, ISP says evidence was collected through multiple search warrants.

Thelus is being held in the Daviess County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond with 10 percent allowed. A pretrial conference is scheduled on December 20th at 8:30 p.m. in Daviess Superior Court. A jury trial is scheduled for March 21, 2023, at 9 a.m. with Judge Dean Sobeck presiding.
