Teenager detained and transported to a juvenile facility after a fight with a woman, resisting arrest

BEDFORD – A 16-year-old female was detained after Bedford Police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon.

When officers arrived at the police department at  2:44 p.m. they were alerted the fight had happened on Saturday night at a home on 13th Street. 

A woman reported she had entered the juvenile’s room and taken a lighter from the room. The juvenile pushed the other woman twice causing pain to her right hip and causing her to strike her head on the wall. The juvenile struck the woman in her left shoulder with a closed fist causing pain. 

The woman signed a battery affidavit.

Police contacted the teenager who failed to comply with the officers and had to be forcefully pulled off her bed. Once placed in handcuffs the juvenile attempted to pull away from an officer. Once in the handcuffs, the juvenile was walked to a police car where she again attempted to pull away and lunge toward the adult female who had filed charges. 

The juvenile was transported to the Bedford Police Department and Juvenile Probation was contacted. 

While waiting for transportation to a juvenile detention center the teen attempted to flee from officers and hide in a corner behind a desk chair. Two officers grabbed the teen and who would not stand or walk back to the metal bench in the booking room. While officers attempted to gain control of the juvenile, she attempted to grab a chair with her legs and prevent officers from moving her. Officers had to carry the juvenile to the metal bench. While attempting to place her back into handcuffs she forcefully pulled away and kicked one of the officers in the upper thigh.
