Officers find 8 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia and arrest two

MITCHELL – Two people were arrested on Sunday, November 6th at 4:20 p.m. a Mitchell Police officer stopped a white Buick on State Road 37 for a traffic violation.

The driver was 40-year-old Patrick Wilson, of Brazil and his passenger was 39-year-old Jennifer Redfield, of Indianapolis.

Wilson was driving on a suspended driver’s license.

The two told the office they were on their way home after visiting an inmate at Branchville Correctional Facility.  

A canine alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.

In the center console, police found 8 grams of crystal meth and two smoking devices.

Wilson told an officer he would not speak to them “because whatever I say is going to be used against me”.

Both Redfield and Wilson were detained on charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson also faces a charge of driving while his driver’s license was suspended.

The vehicle was towed by Stone City Service and Collision Center.
