MITCHELL – A Mitchell man was arrested Saturday after a Mitchell Police officer was patrolling in the area of Camelot Court and noticed 29-year-old Anthony Nash walking.

The officer knew Nash was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

The officer rolled down the window of the patrol car and asked Nash to stop. Nash dropped the bag he was carrying and took off running.

Nash refused to stop when ordered by the officer during the foot pursuit. The officer was able to catch up with Nash, take him to the ground and detain him.

Nash told officers he ran “because those warrants were bullsh**”.

While being booked into the jail officers located a syringe loaded with meth in Nash’s back pocket.

Nash was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of meth, trafficking with an inmate, and two warrants for failure to appear.
