Mitchell McDonald’s employee calls police for man passing out in drive through

MITCHELL – An Orleans man was arrested after a Mitchell Police officer was requested to McDonald’s to perform a welfare check.

While en route to the restaurant, dispatchers informed the officer that someone called stating the man was in a green Chevrolet Avalanch and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Dylan Woolston

When the officer arrived he found 26-year-old Dylan Woolston, sitting in the driver’s seat and he was waving his hands around to customers inside the business.

As the officer approached Woolston’s vehicle he saw Woolson pull a glass bottle from inside his jacket and take a drink from it. Woolston then began waving the bottle in the air and then placed it back in his jacket pocket.

Police say Woolston had the radio “up at a high volume and was reading a Bible” and the vehicle was running. As the officer approached the vehicle, Woolston appeared to be nodding off with his eyes closed and then would wake back up.

Woolston then noticed the officer and was told to turn down the music, which he did. Police say Woolston was intoxicated. Police told Woolston to put the vehicle in park, turn his vehicle off and remove the keys from the ignition.

Woolston told police he was just reading his Bible and waiting on the 16 sandwiches he had ordered and was going to take it home and eat with his mother.

Woolston asked the officer ‘If he was God” and “if he could read the Bible with him”.

As Woolston was stepping from the vehicle, a bottle of Camerena Tequila fell from the bottom of his pants.

A McDonald’s employee said she was working the drive-through window when Woolston placed his order and then passed out. The vehicle began rolling forward and Woolston woke up. The employee told the officer Woolston appeared to be “on something”.

Woolston’s mother was contacted and she took possession of the vehicle.

Woolston was transported to IU Bedford Hospital for a blood draw. He was then transported to the Lawrence County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
