Crews arrived to find a sedan over the embankment down in the water with the driver still inside the car. After assessing the best way to get the driver out firefighters decided to cut out the windshield of the car. Once the windshield was removed firefighters and other rescuers assisted the driver, who was already standing up in the car, through the opening, and onto the boat. The driver was then transported by boat back to the ramp where the ambulance was waiting. The driver was transported to the hospital for further evaluations of their injuries.

The UPS driver saw the passenger door moving as if someone was attempting to open it to get out. The UPS driver immediately called 911 as they ran down the embankment and into the water to try and help the driver of the car. The UPS driver stayed on the scene relaying information to 911 dispatchers as fire, EMS, and law enforcement units were on their way to the scene.

If the vehicle were not noticed by the UPS driver, it is unknown how much longer the injured driver could’ve been in the water before someone spotted the accident. The cause of the wreck has not been determined at this time.
