Celebrate American Archives Month with the Indiana State Archives

It’s American Archives Month, and the Indiana Archives and Records Administration will be celebrating on social media throughout the month on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram to see what they are up to.

Check out the newest blog post about what they’re doing to prepare the archival collection for their big move. You can stay up-to-date with the blog and other behind-the-scenes photos and stories by following us them Facebook.

On Oct. 12, archivists around the country will take to Twitter to respond to questions tweeted with the hashtag #AskAnArchivist. Take this opportunity to tweet with the archivists at the Indiana Archives and Records Administration using @IndianaArchives. Questions can vary widely, from the silly, “What is it like to work in 70°F with 30-50% humidity every day?” to the practical “What should I do to be sure that my emails won’t get lost?” or “What should I do to preserve my family letters and photographs?” Silly or practical, each question will be an opportunity to talk about the work and our profession with the public.

You can also find them on FromThePage.com. They are currently working on indexing Indiana’s Civil War Draft Enrollment Lists from 1862. You can find the project online.
