MORGAN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors plans to conduct paving operations early next week at the S.R. 252 bridge over West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County. The bridge is located just over a mile west of S.R. 135 near Morgantown.
On Monday, October 10, crews will flag traffic while paving is in progress. Crews will also stop traffic intermittently for up to 20 minutes at a time throughout the day. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible. This work was originally planned for Tuesday but was rescheduled.
Milling and paving are being completed to repair pavement at both ends of the bridge, which is currently reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals for a bridge replacement project. Work is expected to continue on the project through later this year.
The $2 million contract also includes a structure replacement on S.R. 135 north of Trafalgar. S.R. 135 is anticipated to reopen at that location (1.23 miles north of S.R. 252) later this month.
