The council discussed the need to purchase new cameras and a stand-alone computer, that’s sole purpose would be used to store the footage and information from the day or specific events. The total amount needed for the cams and equipment would be around $750.

Council President Tangie Jenkins proposed that $1,000 be set aside for the purchase, in the event that shipping or additional fees could surpass $750. The council approved the request, and will begin the process of acquiring the new equipment.

Additionally, the Marshal’s office officially received the new Dodge Durango Pursuit Vehicle. The previous Crown Vic Marshal vehicle is in need of repairs to the hood and paint, as the paint is chipping off of the vehicle. The council approved an additional $800 to repair the issue, one that council member Jon Broglin said is typical with these vehicles as they age.
