MITCHELL – The 75th Annual Persimmon Festival will feature the Junior Miss Crowning on Monday, September 19th at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Stage.
This year, 13 young women will compete for the title of the 2022 Persimmon Festival Junior Miss, following their performances on Saturday, September 17th. This year’s contestants are listed below.
Hannah Herald
Hannah, daughter of Tricia and Johnnie Herald, is a Sixth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Topeka, Kansas.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is fried pickles. When she grows up, she wants to be a pediatrician.
One word she used to describe herself is adventurous.
Raylee Blackwell
Raylee, daughter of Brittnie and Cory Blackwell, is a Sixth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Florida with her new cousin and going to John’s Pass Pier.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is funnel cakes. When she grows up, she wants to be an artist.

Cadence Tillett
Cadence, daughter of Melinda and Denny Smoot, is a Sixth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Wonder Valley Church Camp.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Zipper, and her favorite food at the festival is chees fries. When she grows up, she wants to be an artist.

Hailee Hall
Hailee, daughter of Deidra Perry and Buddy Davis, is a Sixth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Panama City Beach, Florida for her birthday where she spent time with her family, having the best time of her life.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Cyclone, and her favorite food at the festival is funnel cake. When she grows up, she wants to be playing basketball for the WNBA.

Rayne Bryson
Rayne, daughter of Brittany and William Bryson, is a Sixth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was spending time with her cousins.

Khloe Cline
Khloe, daughter of Tatelyn and Chris Cline, is a Seventh Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was hanging out at Orange Beach, Alabama.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is a lemon shake-up. When she grows up, she wants to be a cosmetologist.

Hayden Salazar
Hayden, daughter of Rachel Warren, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Washington, D.C. with two of her best friends.

Zoey Shelton
Zoey, daughter of Stevie and Ryan Shelton, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to several volleyball camps, where she made a lot of new friends and learned a couple of new techniques.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Scrambler, and her favorite food at the festival is fried Oreos. When she grows up, she wants to be a pediatrician.

Gwendolyn Eastridge
Gwendolyn, daughter of Sandy and Travis Eastridge, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going on a trip to St. Louis.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Bullet, and her favorite food at the festival is funnel cake. When she grows up, she wants to be a veterinarian.

Miley Teague
Miley, daughter of Ashley and Mike Teague, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going tubing on the lake with her family and friends.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is a lemon shake-up. When she grows up, she wants to be a movie producer, and her first film will be a horror film, featuring Mitchell’s Green Lady Bridge.

Davaney Roop
Davaney, daughter of Eva Dicks and Jason Wimmenauer, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going on vacation to Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Avah Cooper
Avah, daughter of Julia and Thomas Hamilton, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Gulf Shores, Alabama with her family.

Kadance Hyneman
Kadance, daughter of Raven and Nicholas Hyneman, is an Eighth Grader at Mitchell Junior High School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was spending time a the Lawrence County 4-H Fair with her friends, and showing her animals.
Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the swings, and her favorite food at the festival is snow cones. When she grows up, she wants to be a forensic scientist or an athletic trainer while attending Notre Dame University.
