Meet the 2022 Little Miss Pageant contestants

MITCHELL – The 75th Annual Persimmon Festival will feature the Little Miss crowning ceremony on Monday, September 19th at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Stage.

This year, 20 young ladies are vying to take the crown and be named this years Persimmon Festival Little Miss, following their performances on Saturday, September 17th. This year’s contestants are listed below.

Madi Roberts

Madison Madi Roberts

Madi, daughter of Cody Roberts and Amber Jenkins, with guardians Nikki and Dennis Gratzer, is a Third Grader at Hatfield Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Holiday World and Church Camp.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Strawberries and Dragon, and her favorite food at the festival is cotton candy. When she grows up, she wants to be an artist.

One word she used to describe herself is friendly.

Violet Stanley

Violet Stanley

Violet, daughter of Nicole and Steve Stanley, is a Third Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going swimming.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the ferris wheel, and her favorite food at the festival is corndogs. When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor.

One word she used to describe herself is nice.

Ava Rayhill

Ava, daughter of Stacy and Gary Rayhill, is a Third Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to pick up her puppy Hank.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Scrambler, and her favorite food at the festival is dinosaur nuggets and fries.

Zoey Maddox

Zoey, daughter of Candi and Joey Maddox, is a Third Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Holiday World and riding her first big rollercoaster.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Scrambler, and her favorite food at the festival is the loaded nachos. When she grows up, she wants to be a nurse.

Hazel, daughter of Clara and Jonathan Arnold, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Holiday World with her friends.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Scrambler, and her favorite food at the festival is persimmon pudding. When she grows up, she wants to be a shark scientist.

Rhylee, daughter of Brittany and Cory Blackwell, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going on vacation to Florida, shopping at malls, and going to the beach.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is Tiger Ears. When she grows up, she wants to be a professional cheerleader.

Abigail, daughter of Sarah Johnson and Travis Gratzer, is a Third Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going on a dinner cruise down the Halifax River in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Hurricane, and her favorite food at the festival is persimmon ice cream. When she grows up, she wants to be a racecar driver.

Lillian, daughter of Hope Terrell and Joseph Guess, is a Fourth Grader and is Home-schooled. Her favorite thing she did this summer was purchasing and raising baby lionhead bunnies.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is the pulled pork nachos. When she grows up, she wants to be a makeup artist.

Alaina, daughter of Lindsay and Phillip Cessna, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was participating in the Lawrence County 4-H Fair where she showed her lambs and dairy cow.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the slides, and her favorite food at the festival is persimmon ice cream. When she grows up, she wants to be a pediatrician or a veterinarian.

One word she used to describe herself is a Christian.

Lola, daughter of Courtney and John McFadden, is a Fourth Grader at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going on a family road trip where she was able to do the Harry Potter World Experience.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the ferris wheel, and her favorite food at the festival is Elephant Ears or persimmon ice cream.

One word she used to describe herself is confident.

Laney Wilder

Laney, daughter of Kerri and Tommy Wilder, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was showing her goats at the Lawrence County 4-H Fair and having a shaving cream fight on the last day of the fair.

Her favorite ride at the festival is the Gravitron, and her favorite food at the festival is chees fries. When she grows up, she wants to be either a Veterinarian, a Chiropractor, or a Hair Stylist.

Klare, daughter of Tatelyn and Chris Cline, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Church Camp with her friend Alaina.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is the fried Oreos. When she grows up, she wants to be a Fourth Grade Teacher.

Norah, daughter of Cari and J.C. Isom, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was wrestling a pig at the Lawrence County 4-H Fair and swimming with her cousins.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Strawberries, and her favorite food at the festival is steak and potatoes. When she grows up, she wants to be a Kindergarten Teacher.

Gunnar, daughter of Stephanie and Ky Grobb, is a Fourth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was train bridging with her mom.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Strawberries, and her favorite food at the festival is Tiger Ears. When she grows up, she wants to be a dance teacher or a baby doctor.

Sophie-Ann, daughter of Rachel Armstrong, is a Fifth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to Alabama and playing Softball in the World Series.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Zipper, and her favorite food at the festival is corndogs and cotton candy. When she grows up, she wants to be a professional softball player and an artist.

Harleigh, daughter of Mackenzie and Anthony Reeve, is a Fifth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was participating in her first 4-H Fair, showing her pigs, Biscuit and Gravy, and participating in the Lawrence County 4-H Fair Jr. Miss Pageant.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Round-Up, and her favorite food at the festival is Tiger Ears and Lemon Shake-Ups. She hasn’t decided what she wants to be when she grows up, but feels she has plenty of time to figure it out.

Harli, daughter of Kim and Mike Earl, is a Fifth Grader at Burris Elementary School. Her favorite thing she did this summer was playing in the Nationals Fastpitch Tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the Swings, and her favorite food at the festival is the hot mess. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher and a softball player.

Kaydance, daughter of Amy and Jared Staley, is a Fifth Grader who is homeschooled. Her favorite thing she did this summer was going to the zoo and the children’s museum with her mom, dad, and little brother.

Her favorite ride at the Persimmon Festival is the fun house, and her favorite food at the festival is funnel cakes. When she grows up, she wants to be a model.
