Obituary: Nina Laverne Reynolds

July 17, 1931 – September 11, 2022

Nina Laverne Reynolds, 91, of Bloomfield, formerly of Needmore, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

Nina was born on Friday, July 17, 1931, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Orlando and Goldie (Deckard) Prince. Nina married James Earl Reynolds on January 8, 1949, and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2003, she had six children.

Nina is survived by two children her daughter Rebecca Prince Keithly of Heltonville who was raised by Orlando and Goldie. Her son Orlando Rickie Reynolds of Arizona, her granddaughter, Michelle Wray-Resler, and husband Eric of Bloomfield who she lived with. Grandchildren, Michael Wray, Holly (Wes) Wray, Danny Reynolds, Melissa Shake, Landon Keithly, and Trenton Reynolds, great-grandchildren, Tyler Heinich, Sammy Mathis, Mason Wilson, Mariah Wilson, Diamond Reynolds, Emmalynn Keithly, Jasper Keithly, Kelia Wray, one great great grandchild, Malcolm Wilson, one brother, Gene (Betty) Bartlett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Colleen Vaught, one daughter, Sandra Wray, three sons, Ronnie, James Michael, and Elmer Dale Reynolds, and one great-grandson, Christopher Heinich.

Nina was a hard worker, she worked at Sarkes Tarzan and retired from RCA in Bloomington, she loved to garden and work in the yard and can veggies in the summer, and she was an amazing cook. Nina was a member of Ramsey
Ridge Church, Chapel Hill Church, Friendly Bible Church, and most recently Momentum Community Church, Nina loved the Lord and served God faithfully her entire life. She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids and recently welcomed a great-great-grandchild.

In the last four years, Nina moved to Bloomfield to live with Michelle and Eric, she had amazing caregivers, Stella Leggett, Paige Elliott, Pamela Love, Stacey Prifogle, Jessica Wallace, Ashley Williams, Bambie Whitlock, and Jessica Pearson, her granddaughter, Michelle. Special thanks to Southern Care Hospices, Darlene Burton, Laura Koons, Jennifer Raymond, and Samantha Cross, special thanks to Comfort Keepers and Elders Journey of Bloomington, and thanks to our friends, Ok-Chu Blevins and Delores Strieby for all the food and love.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Eads, officiating burial will be in Patton Hill Cemetery, friends may call on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nina’s memory to the Momentum Community Church.
