Obituary: Jack Allan Tanner


December 24, 1930 – September 13, 2022

Jack Allan Tanner, 91, of Mitchell, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his residence.

Born on December 24, 1930, in Mattoon, Illinois, he was the son of Freeman and Millie (Brasil) Tanner. He married Hazel (Ingram) Tanner on June 6, 1951, and she survives. Jack was a minister for United Pentecostal Church International and has authored more than 40 books. He retired as a Design Engineer at Lake Center Switch in Winona, MN. He was a member of Guide Pointe Church.

Surviving Jack is his wife, Hazel; children, Linda (Robert) Kaske of Rochester, MN, Cathy (John) Coryea of Mitchell, IN, Gary (Cherie) Tanner of Murray, KY, Karen Duggar of Fremont, NE, Judy (Mark) Gebhard of Rochester, MN, Larry (Lynn) Tanner of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert (Erika) Tanner of Wisconsin, and Rhonda (David) Orth of Paoli, IN; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jan Tanner and Faith Wagner.

Preceding Jack in death are his parents; and one sister, Glenna Brott.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Guide Pointe Church with Pastor Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Friday.
