Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund aids Hoosiers to keep their homes

INDIANA – The Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund has approved nearly 1,300 households for assistance. 

Eligible Hoosier homeowners can receive 6 months of assistance not to exceed $35,000. This assistance includes reinstatement fees, property taxes, and condominium fees in addition to up to 6 months of mortgage assistance. 

Homeowners in Indiana who have an income equal to or less than 150% of the area median income and have experienced financial hardship after January 21, 2020, associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Eligibility requirements may include:

  • Loss of job due to Covid-19 
  • Reduction of work hours 
  • Child care costs 
  • Personal illness 

This program is completed in conjunction with a network of partners through the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network. This is a network of FREE housing counselors across the state dedicated to helping Hoosiers stay in their homes.

To request a housing counselor, you can email HAF@b-l-n.com, call 877-GET-HOPE, or contact a regional, or counseling agency directly, or when you apply you can check a box stating you would like a counselor to contact you.
