2022 Persimmon Festival Arts & Crafts Contest looking for participants

MITCHELL – The 2022 Persimmon Festival Arts & Crafts and Photography Contest is set to return for the 75th Annual Persimmon Festival.

Those interested in entering their work in the contest can do so on Sunday, September 18th from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post 250 404 Sheeks Drive. The entry fee is $5 per person.

Those interested in entering may make only one entry in each class but may enter as many classes as desired. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first three places in each arts and Crafts class.

Exhibits will be open each day beginning Monday, September 19th from noon to 8 p.m. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of all items entered into the contest, but the committee will not be responsible for any damages or losses to any piece. Food exhibits are to be brought on disposable containers and covered with clear plastic and include recipe cards.

Photographs must be 8×10 or 11×14 and then matted. NO frames. Ribbons and Best of Show will be awarded for Photography.

I. Division – Youth Under 13 Class

II. Division – Youth 13-18 Class

  5. Glue Together Model

III. Division – Foods, Open with Recipe Class

  1. Bread (3 slices)
  2. Cake (3 slices)
  3. Cookies (5)
  4. Brownies (5)
  5. Candy (5)

IV. Division – Canning, Open Class

  1. Canned Vegetable
  2. Pickled Item
  3. Canned Fruit
  4. Relish
  5. Jelly/Jam

V. Division – Sewing, Open Class
