The Speakeasy Pizza Beer Garden will return to the corner of 6th and Mississippi during the 75th Annual Persimmon Festival

MITCHELL – In conjunction with the 75th Annual Persimmon Festival, Speakeasy Pizza out of Orleans has been approved by the City of Mitchell to bring back their Beer Garden on Friday, September 23rd, and Saturday, September 24th.

Location of the Beer Garden, next to The Back Porch Barber Shop

J.C. Isom, owner of The Back Porch Barber Shop in Mitchell, represented the request for the approval of the Beer Garden to be at the corner of 6th Street and Mississippi Avenue near the end of the festival.

The garden will require armbands to enter the gated area, with one way in or out of the designated area. Those in the garden will be carded regularly and must be 21 years or older to enter. There will be no food served at the beer garden, but patrons can go to vendors at the festival and bring food back to enjoy with their beverages.

It remains important to the group to not include food sales at their location, so as to not take away from the opportunities available to the other street vendors, who rely on events like these to make a living.

The beer garden will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd, and from the conclusion of the Persimmon Festival Parade until 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 24th. All alcohol sales end at 10 p.m.
