Man was arrested after shoving a woman

MITCHELL – A Mitchell man was arrested Monday, September 5th after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Mitchell Police officers responded to a report of a domestic fight at 4:01 p.m. at 1850 Blue Springs Cavern Road.

Officers arrested 49-year-old Corbett May, on charges of domestic battery, resisting arrest, and battery on a public safety official.

When police arrived they spoke to May and then detained him, but May resisted causing injury to two officers.

Officers then spoke to a female at the home. The female told police that May got upset over a text. She attempted to walk away as May yelled at her and that is when May shoved her and left the room.
