Bedford Firefighters battle house fire early Tuesday morning on 12th Street

BEDFORD – Bedford Fire Department firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of 12th Street at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

When firefighters arrived they found the fire at the back of the home and the inside of the home filled with smoke.

According to Bedford Fire Chief John Hughes smoke detectors in the home alerted the family to the danger and everyone escaped safely.

Firefighters were on the scene until 3:45 a.m.

No one was injured in or while battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
