Indianapolis Children’s Choir to Release 13 Octavos

INDIANA – The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) and Beckenhorst Press are pleased to announce that thirteen octavos will be released this week through the ICC Publishing House.

The pieces are being released through the ICC’s newly established publishing arm, under the leadership of Artistic Director & Editor Joshua Pedde and Curriculum Coordinator & Editor Leeann Starkey. Through this partnership, Beckenhorst has expanded its educational market offerings due to ICC’s long-standing reputation and commitment to offering only carefully edited and highest-quality material for choirs.

Founded in 1986, and now under the leadership of Artistic Director Joshua Pedde, the world-renowned ICC serves approximately 2,500 young people in more than 40 programs and holds 110 weekly rehearsals and music classes.

Octavos being released the week of August 22, 2022 include:

  • The First Noel – arr. Amy Branson Fata – SSA with Piano and Optional Flute
  • Indiana – Sarah K. May – SSA with Piano and Optional Flute
  • Ev’ry Person Has a Story – Denise Gilliland – SA with Piano
  • Johnny Has Gone For a Soldier – arr. Ken Berg – SSAA, Soprano Solo, Piano, and Optional Violin and Side Drum
  • As With Gladness Men of Old – arr. Heidi Browning – Unison Voices and Piano
  • Perhaps – Nancy Durance – SA with Piano
  • Lo! How a Rose E’er Blooming – arr. Amy Branson Fata and Patrick Fata – Unison Voices with Piano
  • Erlkönig – arr. Ruth E. Dwyer – SSAA/TTB and Children’s Choir with Piano
  • I Wonder as I Wander – arr. Amy Branson Fata – SATB

Designed with young singers from preschool – high school in mind, these new octavos are great examples of the ICC’s standing and leadership in the choral music community. This set expands upon the ICC’s existing offerings with additional pieces for two-part, three-part and four-part choirs, and some pieces that offer optional instrumental additions.
