Deputy investigates accident at StoneCrest Golf Course

BEDFORD – Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies worked a property damage accident on Thursday at 7:44 p.m. at the intersection of Stonecrest Drive and Capstone Trace.

According to the report, a 2011 Honda Accord was left unattended at StoneCrest golf course in the parking lot. The owner of the vehicle arrived in the parking lot and noticed a handwritten note on his vehicle.

The note said, “Gray Nissan Frontier backed straight into your passenger side bumper and then moved away,” The license plate of that vehicle was written on the note.

A deputy was able to find the driver of the Nissan, 70-year-old Charles Sater. 

Sater told the officer he did back into the vehicle but didn’t notice any damage.

The officer did find damage to the passenger side bumper but no damage to the car. Damages were estimated between $1,001 to $2,500.

No one was injured in the accident.
