Obituary: Lois A. Staggs

November 7, 1942 – August 5, 2022

Lois A. Staggs, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at her residence.

Born November 7, 1942, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Robert and Lois (Strunk) Stannard. She married Kenneth D. Staggs on September 14, 1957, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2016. She was a homemaker and member of the Peerless Pentecostal Church. She loved attending church, sewing, and baking cakes.

Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Burnette, and her husband, Rusty, of Bedford; three sons, Gregory Staggs
and his wife, Teresa, of Bedford, Jeff Staggs, and his wife, Karen, of Springville, and Mike Staggs and his wife, Mary, of Bedford; nineteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; a brother, Robert Stannard, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Kentucky; four sisters, Faye Mitchell, of Bedford, Debbie Morron, and her husband, Phil, of Bedford, Pam Tirey, and her husband, Bob, of Oolitic, and April Robbins and her husband, Gary, of Needmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three grandsons, Dustin Staggs, Jeremy Burnette, and Randy Pruett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9th at the Peerless Pentecostal Church with Rev.
Bennie Sutherland, Rev. Aaron Swafford, Rev. Justin Burnette, and Rev. Dr. Andy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8th at the Day & Carter
Mortuary and from11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday, August 9th at the Peerless Pentecostal Church.
