Personnel changes in the Bedford Fire Department announced during Bedford Board of Works meeting

BEDFORD – The Bedford Fire Department announced multiple personnel changes during the Bedford Board of Works meeting Monday afternoon, following the retirement of Fire Lieutenant Ronnie G. Prince Jr. on June 23rd, 2022.

With 20 years of service to the City of Bedford and the Bedford Fire Department, Lieutenant Prince decided to step away, and pursue a new venture.

With this retirement, additional personnel changes were required to fill the available needs of the department. Fire Chief John Hughes requested the approval of promoting Senior Firefighter Jeremy P. Nolan to Lieutenant, and Firefighter First Class Mark Andrew Roberts to Senior Firefighter.

In addition to these moves, Charles S. Johnson was moved to a 3rd Class Firefighter position following his one-year probation, and Firefighter Isaac Crane was re-hired by the department following a brief stint with Monroe County Fire.

Finally, a new Firefighter was sworn in as a member of the Bedford Fire Department. James Ethan Lipscomb completed the requirements to be hired on and was sworn in by Bedford Mayor Sam Craig. All changes were approved by the Board of Works.
