Major drug bust sees four individuals arrested in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY – The Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section and the Indiana State Police Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) concluded a lengthy investigation into a Lawrence County drug trafficking organization by making multiple arrests on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

ISP troopers and detectives served numerous search warrants, conducted traffic stops, seized a large number of drugs including methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine, and took four people into custody.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Greg Day conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 13th and “U” Street in Bedford on 29-year-old Dylan Meadows, of Bedford. 

During the traffic stop, Sgt. Day observed indicators of criminal activity and requested a canine to the scene of the stop. Bedford Patrolman Faheem Bade arrived and deployed his canine, Zazu, who gave a positive alert on Meadow’s vehicle. A subsequent search revealed that Meadows had a used, uncapped syringe with methamphetamine residue inside.

Sgt. Day, DES Detective Zack Robbins, and Trp. Jeremy Cox went to Meadows’s residence in the 2900 block of Ted Jones Drive after obtaining probable cause to search the apartment. Inside the apartment troopers located approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, numerous plastic bags for packaging drugs, and other items associated with the dealing of methamphetamine. Meadows was arrested and incarcerated in the Lawrence County Jail 

Bradley Crawford

Later that evening a search warrant was executed in the 200 block of Old SR 450. Troopers encountered three people including Bradley Crawford, a 52-year-old male from Bloomington, and Allison Dalton, a 30-year-old female from Bedford. During the search, Dalton was found to have approximately 3 grams of heroin.

Crawford had approximately 2 grams of cocaine. Both Crawford and Dalton were arrested and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail. Crawford was charged with possession of cocaine – a Level 6 Felony, and visiting a common nuisance – a Class B Misdemeanor. Dalton was charged with possession of heroin – a Level 6 Felony.

Christine Blackburn

During the last warrant involved with this drug ring in the 1600 block of 2nd Street in Bedford where they located Christine Blackburn, a 40-year-old female from Bedford. Blackburn was wanted on an active petition to revoke, a warrant out of Lawrence County. Troopers had probable cause to search the garage. 

During this search, they located approximately 75 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and other items associated with dealing methamphetamine. Blackburn was arrested and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail for dealing methamphetamine – a Level 2 Felony, possession of methamphetamine – a Level 3 Felony, and petition to revoke a felony warrant.
