Lawrence County Commissioners approve vacating a right of way and approve converting a housing division back to acreage

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County commissioners approved vacating a right of way on Old State Road 37. Brad Hawkins is asked for 0.111 acres of right of way so he can have a setback for the construction of buildings. Hawkins will take over drainage issues and take over any maintenance that is needed.

Since there were no formal objections to the request, the commissioners voted to deed the right of way to Hawkins.

The commissioners also approved the request of Justin and Tiffany Hobson to change the seven lots they own in Woodview Estates to acreage. The Hobsons own lots 11-16 in the division. The land, which is a large sinkhole, can not be used to build houses. The commissioner voted to suspend the rules and voted to turn the land back to acreage. A document of record will now be created and signed by Commissioner President Rodney Fish.
