Performing Arts Series and movies in the parks

BLOOMINGTON – The Performing Arts Series of free concerts and movies in the park continues all summer long.

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is excited to be hosting some wonderful concerts and movies this summer in the city parks. From rock and roll to the blues and from A League of Their Own to Ghostbusters, there’s something for everyone this summer.

The Performing Arts Series features concerts every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Peoples Park. These concerts run until 6 p.m. with performances by local and regional musicians.

Happy Hours on the Lawn at Switchyard Park return Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. Come enjoy live music throughout the summer. Adult beverages are available for purchase for those 21 years old and up. ID check required.

Movies in the Parks series continues on Friday, June 17 at 9:45 p.m. with the screening of Sing 2 (PG) in Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park. Grab your picnic blanket, pop some popcorn, and enjoy a movie under the stars. ​​​​​​​Admission is FREE to all concerts and movies.
