BEDFORD – Today is the deadline to register for 4-H Camp.
Several Lawrence County 4-H members spent an exciting weekend completing training to be this year’s 4-H Camp Counselors. Each had to submit an application, and participate in an interview before being chosen for the position.
This year’s Lawrence County 4-H Camp Counselors are:
- Heaven Cooper
- Mallie Dotts
- Emma Gabhart
- Nora Howard
- Lilee Pridemore
- Reagan Walls
- Paige Wofford
They joined a total of 45 camp counselors for the two-day retreat where they learned leadership, team building, and many life skills to help them be successful, nurturing, and exciting camp counselors.
4-H Camp is June 3-5 at Country Lake Retreat Center. There is still time to register but the deadline is 11:59 p.m. tonight.
Campers will have a lot of fun learning and interacting with fellow campers.
Camp is open to anyone in grades 3-8. They will pick their own classes on topics from archery, canoeing, and fishing to sports, arts and crafts, science, and so much more.
The total cost is $170, but the Lawrence County Extension Office still has a few first come first serve $100 scholarships courtesy of the 4-H Council. Those wishing to attend will need to register through their 4HOnline profile. If they are not a current 4-H member, they just need to contact the Lawrence County Extension Office today at 812-275-4623.
