Monroe County Community School Corporation board of trustees meet on Tuesday, April 12th

BLOOMINGTON – The Board of School Trustees of the Monroe County Community School Corporation will meet in a work session to receive information on the Corporation’s comprehensive financial plan for purposes of considering a 2022 referendum.

The meeting will take place at the MCCSC Co-Lab on Tuesday, April 12th at 5:30 p.m.

In mid-March, a Referendum Advisory Committee made up of community members from across multiple stakeholder groups was formed and has met three times to discuss district financial issues and advise the school board on how to respond to these issues. This group has another meeting in a couple of weeks. A list of committee members, slide presentations, and meeting summaries for each meeting are available on the 2022 Referendum website.

In addition to the Referendum Advisory Committee working hand-in-hand with the district, there will also be opportunities for staff to participate. Meetings will be held at each school. The greater community will have a better understanding and be able to seek advice to help shape the school board’s response to the district’s financial challenges. Principals will be meeting with parents at PTO meetings in May, and district administrators will be meeting with community groups.
