Prosecutor charges couple with possession of meth

BONO TOWNSHIP – Lawrence County Prosecutor Sam Arp filed charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony, against 42-year-old William Harrison and 34-year-old Amber Livingston. Prosecutor Arp opted not to file charges of dealing in methamphetamine because the elements of the crime did not currently exist in the probable cause.

Both were arrested Wednesday morning after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department detectives and deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, led by Detective Sergeant Michael Ramos, executed a search warrant on a camper located in the 1200 block of Tunnelton-Bono Road.

Deputies seized multiple items listed on the search warrant and during their search, they also found a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance weighing over 20 grams, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Officers found a baggie containing more than 20 grams of meth on a dresser. Police also found multiple smoking devices and four firearms. Police did not have a warrant to seize the weapons so they applied for one and the weapons were confiscated.

While on the scene Harrison appeared to have suffered a medical situation and an IU LifeLine ambulance responded and cleared Harrison to be incarcerated.

According to Sheriff Mike Branham, the rape investigation remains active and additional information will be released when appropriate to do so.

Police say Harrison has three convictions. A guilty plea was entered on March 10, 2004, in Bartholomew County. The crime was possession of methamphetamine. Harrison also pleaded guilty on  August 17, 2016, to battery on a pregnant woman. In a third case, Harrison pleaded guilty on August 18, 2016, to battery causing injury.
