Two trapped in vehicle in State Road 54 accident in Greene County Tuesday afternoon

GREENE COUNTY – Center-Jackson Fire Territory (CJFT) was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the 5900 block of East State Road 54 Tuesday afternoon.

Upon arriving at the scene CJFT found two vehicles with heavy damage, one vehicle still had two occupants trapped inside of the vehicle. The other vehicle occupants were out when they had arrived.

The two occupants that were trapped had their lower extremities pinned underneath the dash of their vehicle. After an hour of extrication, due to the significant front end damage and the floorboard being pushed up into the interior of the car, both occupants were removed from the vehicle and flown to Evansville by Air Evac helicopters with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The occupants in the other vehicle was transported for evaluations by Greene County Ambulance.
