BLOOMINGTON – Two Monroe County Sheriff’s Department deputies were injured while working an accident scene on State Road 48 and Orad Road.
The accident was reported at 8 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, Deputy Andrew Blake and Deputy Cole Chitwood were attempting to get the vehicles out of the roadway, when one of the drivers involved inadvertently put their vehicle in reverse instead of drive. The vehicle ran into both deputies. Both were able to jump out of the way just before being pinned between vehicles.
Both deputies received minor injuries and were treated and released.
