BEDFORD – Firefighters from Marshall Township were called to a wildland fire at 466 Guthrie Road at 2:43 p.m. Saturday after a brush fire got out of control and quickly spread.
“Due to the conditions and rapid spread Shawswick VFD was requested to assist but was disregarded prior to arriving,: added Marshall Township VFD Chief Jason Lewis.
Approximately six acres of field and woods was extinguished.
Fire danger Saturday was high due to dry conditions and high winds, added Chief Lewis.
The fire rekindled at 7:21 p.m. but was extinguish quickly.
