Chamber’s Success School announces 2022 Educator of the Year awardees

BLOOMINGTON – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Success School is proud to announce the recipients of the 21st Annual Educator of the Year Awards.

For over two decades, The Chamber’s Success School has championed excellence in education with the annual awards ceremony, which recognizes the best teachers and programs in accredited schools across Monroe County. This year’s awardees were honored in a community celebration at the 21st Annual Educator of the Year Awards on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington’s Shreve Hall. 

The program featured student-led entertainment with a performance from the Tri-North Jazz Band. 

Congratulations to MCCSC outstanding educators:

  • Angela Cannon, English Teacher at Bloomington High School North
  • Choonhyun Jeon, ELL, Cultural Competency & Diversity Coordinator, Administration 
  • Michelle Qualley, Special Education Teacher at Jackson Creek Middle School
  • Megan Whittaker, Media Specialist at Tri-North Middle School

Awardees are selected from a pool of nominees from across Monroe County by a committee composed of leaders from the public sector, the business community, and education.

The Outstanding Educator Awards recognize outstanding service and dedication to the field of education, fellow educators, and Monroe County youth. Bloomington-based company Solution Tree is donating $500 to the school of each Outstanding Educator. In addition, Solution Tree will pay all expenses for each awardee to attend a Solution Tree Institute or any of their two-day workshops.
