Gordon Dean Canada, 82, passed away on March 3, 2022, at his residence in Bedford.

Born on August 29, 1939, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Fred O. and Lucille (Davis) Canada. Gordon married the love of his life, Mary Kern, on June 17, 1961, she survives. Gordon was the owner of Canada’s Body Shop for numerous years. He was a member of New Union Christian Church, absolutely enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on cars. His kind heart and soul that he showed to his friends, family, and anyone he met, will forever be remembered.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Rick (Pam) Canada of Oolitic, Shelley (Donnie) Silvers of Bedford, and Christy (Tony) Sproles of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie) Canada, Aaron Silvers, Tana Marshall, Joey (Lindsey) Silvers, Vanessa Canada, Tad (Alana) Canada, Jaylyn Sproles, and Gracie Sproles; along with ten great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are his brother Jim (Brenda) Canada and sisters; Wanda Mae Tincher, Judy Bell, and Phyllis Stout; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Joyce King.

Gordon’s visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Home in Bedford with funeral Services will immediately following at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Fish officiating.
