Dolores “Jean” Anderson

May 13, 1931 – February 15, 2022

Dolores “Jean” Anderson, 90, of Martinsville, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Grand Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville.

Born May 13, 1931, in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Raymond Shepard and Anna Lee (Watts) Shepard Lowther. She married Dean Anderson on September 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1996. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1949.

She was an industrial buyer for United Technology in Indianapolis retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, L.I.F.E., and the Red Cross. She volunteered at the White River Lodge, Westview Nursing, and Bedford Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Anderson and wife, Kimberly, of Gosport, IN, John Anderson, of Pendleton, IN and Bryan Anderson, of Martinsville; three granddaughters, Judy Entique, Julia Brink, and Amy Thompson; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Plummer, of Medora, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-father, John Lowther, and a sister, Marilyn (in infancy); a daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
