BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday when Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a residence on Bud Ikerd Road after a report that 31-year-old Brandon Yeary was violating a protective order.

Upon arrival, the neighbor told police Yeary had been at the home and had taken the cordless phone to prevent the residents of the home from calling the police. Therefore, the neighbor lent the residents his phone to make the phone call to the police.

The homeowner told police Yeary had come to the house wanting money and to borrow his truck. He would not give Yeary the money or let him use his truck so Yeary got mad and took the cordless home phone. Yeary then left the residence and went to his mobile home which is next door.

Officers went to Yeary’s trailer, retrieved the cordless phone, and spoke to Yeary. Yeary refused to speak to the officers and was arrested on a charge of invasion of privacy and transported to jail.
