Learning about backyard birds with Bedford Parks Department

BEDFORD – On Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:00 p.m., members of the community will have the opportunity to learn about the birds in their own backyard.

The Bedford Parks Department will host a program at the Otis Park Bath House where Barbara Filtri with McCormick’s Creek State Park will share how you can attract backyard birds to your home.

She will also discuss how to keep squirrels, raccoons, and deer out of your bird feeders, and easy systems to fill feeders, as well as recommend landscaping for birds, water needs, providing for hummingbirds, and how to prevent window strikes.

Members of the community are invited to attend this event, and are encouraged to ask any questions you may have to Filtri during this one-of-a-kind event.

To RSVP to this event, you can email jwebb@bedford.in.us or gdorsett@bedford.in.us or call (812) 275-5692 before the February 18th deadline.
