Ollen “Marshall” Baker


June 15, 1935 – January 26, 2022

Ollen “Marshall” Baker, 86, of Springville, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Born June 15, 1935, in Lawrence County, he was the son of George and Pearl (Evans) Baker. He married Wanda Thompson July 19, 1964, and she survives. Marshall had worked for Stone City Construction and retired from the North Lawrence School System. He was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; daughter, Deanna (Bryan) Cain; son, Brian (Jena) Baker; sister, Sylvia Pritchett; grandchildren, Ashly (David) Kirts and Alayla Mitchell; and great-grandchild, Easton Kirts.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Jane (Lester) Hall, Melphia (Bill) Morris, and Mary (Winfred) Wigner; brother, Opal (Vonda) Baker; grandson, Darrean Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Richard Pritchett.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church with Brother Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service, also at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.

The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions to be made in Marshall’s memory to the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford has been entrusted with Marshall’s care.
