Four fire departments battle house fire

FAYETTEVILLE – Four volunteer fire departments battled a house fire Friday.

The fire was reported at 4:26 p.m. at 901 Fayetteville Owens Road. The home is owned by Mike and Jessica Potter.

“The home was a total loss,” said Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department Monty Wright. “No one was home when the fire started. It had burned through the roof when we arrived on the scene.”

Firefighters from Indian Creek, Shawswick, Oolitic, and Perry Volunteer Fire Departments battled the blaze.

No one was injured and the family did not have insurance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
