Shirley A. Babb Ingalls, 91, of Indianapolis and formerly of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Born in Bedford on August 25, 1930, she was the daughter of Forrest J. and Ina (Kern) Babb. She married James F. Ingalls on March 25, 1951, in Bedford, and he preceded her in death on October 9, 2014.
Mrs. Ingalls was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bedford where she served on the Baby Bear Throw and Hats Groups. She was a member of the Ideal Club, the Ladies of the Round Table, Tri-Kappa, and the Panhellenic Association. She was a homemaker.
Surviving Mrs. Ingalls is her son, Joseph E. Ingalls of Indianapolis; a daughter, Cynthia L. Deckard of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one son, James W. Ingalls; two brothers, Joseph E. Babb and Forrest J. Babb, M.D.; and her son-in-law, William Deckard.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bedford with Pastor J. Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at the church.
