Three arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

BEDFORD – Three people were arrested early Friday morning when officers were conducting a traffic stop after learning the driver had a suspended license.

Officers observed a black Honda CRV traveling north on State Road 37 being driven by 30-year-old Brian McIntosh, of Bedford, and initiated a traffic stop upon learning his driving privileges had been suspended.

Passengers in the vehicle were identified as 23-year-old Sarah Kinser and 25-year-old Kyle White.

A K-9 officer arrived to assist the scene. K-9 Unit Dusty was deployed around the vehicle and alerted officers to potential paraphernalia in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located two bags containing methamphetamine. Upon locating the drugs, officers detained the three individuals.

Officers located multiple clear plastic bags and a black box containing a tourniquet, cotton swabs, along with a metal cap containing fentanyl on the back seat. Two additional metal caps in the center consul that contained meth residue were also discovered.

Officers performed a search on Kinser, where she admitted to having two used syringes in her pants that she claimed had previously contained Heroin.

All three were then transported to the Lawrence County Jail, where jail staff had located a syringe in White’s pocket.

McIntosh was arrested for possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug, and unlawful possession of a syringe as well as a citation for driving while suspended.

Both White and Kinser were arrested for possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug, and unlawful possession of a syringe.
