Bedford Park program presentation on fire prevention

BEDFORD – John Hughes, City of Bedford Fire Chief, will present a program on Tuesday, October 19 on Fire Prevention at the Otis Park Bath House.

The program starts at 6 p.m. and will last less than an hour. The program is part of the Bedford Parks Program series which presents a different program every month.

Chief Hughes will focus on how we can all help with preventing fires, how to look for places where fires can start, listening for the sound of a smoke alarm, and planning ahead for two ways out of every room.  Questions and discussion are welcome. The goal is to keep everyone safe and to be aware of things they can do to prevent home fires.  In the United States, on average, a fire department responded to a fire somewhere in the nation every 23 seconds! Don’t let it be your home.

Mark your calendar for the November program in the Bedford Park Outdoor Program Series. On Tuesday, November 16th at 6:00 pm, Bill Van Tine will present a program on Advanced Hydroponics.

Though the park programs were cancelled during 2020 and early 2021 due to concerns over COVID-19, the sponsors are glad to be once again offering this series of outdoor programs to the public.
