Public meeting for grant request Friday morning at Mitchell City Hall

MITCHELL – The City of Mitchell will hold a public hearing on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mitchell City Council Room 407 South 6th Street to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on a proposed federally funded State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project.

The City of Mitchell intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community Rural Affairs (OCRA) for a grant from the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program of the State Community Development Grant program. The total amount of funds requested is $250,000. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low and moderate-income persons is $250,000. The City also proposes to expend an estimated $84,146.98 in USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation Grant funds provided by the Southern Indiana Development Commission.
