VERMILLION CO. – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation on May 6, 2021, after receiving information from the Vermillion County Department of Child Services concerning allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The investigation revealed 25-year-old Lukas Groen, of Lafayette, had allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16. This allegation took place in Vermillion County.
After reviewing the investigation, Vermillion County Prosecutor Bruce Aukerman asked for a warrant to be issued for Groen’s arrest. The warrant was issued on August 6th. Groen was arrested on that warrant today in Lafayette by an ISP Master Trooper. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. He will later be transported back to Vermillion County to face the charges. Â
